I can remember the first WarChild album released 10 years ago for children caught up in the Bosnian war – it raised  £1.25m.

Starting at 12noon (BST) today, a whole host of British bands are endeavouring to record and release an album in the fastest ever time with the aim for it to be available for download by Friday 2pm (BST).
