‘Where music leads, fashion follows and the energy in London right now is around menswear: specifically the drainpipe jeans, porkpie hats and flick-knife-sharp suiting worn by Pete Doherty, the notorious lead singer of Babyshambles and on-off beau of Kate Moss. Doherty’s look – the emaciated glamour of a doomed rock star – has provoked the Dior Homme designer Hedi Slimane to deify Doherty on the Dior runway and in a photographic homage to the 21st-century Sid Vicious.’
