While some Americans may be considering smaller cars, students at Virginia Tech are reacting to the combination of high gas prices and environmental concern by switching their mode of transport to the motorbike, Collegiate Times reports. Since the beginning of the semester there has been a noticeable difference in the amount of motorcycle drivers compared to last year. The Parking Manager told the journal:

“Motorcycles are a more efficient mode of transportation, and spaces are made available in front of parking lots in order to encourage individuals to ride their motorcycles. Also, motorcycles take less space to park.”
