Nintendo is set to launch it’s game system in the US at Thanksgiving with significantly less internal memory than its competition (Xbox & Sony). It seems as if, Nintendo is following an open-platform approach by allowing users to plug popular USB memory sticks (and even disk drives) into the game system.
