MTV & Walmart’s Greenwash
Yesterday, dear readers, we did something we rarely do – we asked a contributor to change a line in a post: we asked Jeff to amend a comment in a post about a eco-exhibition by Walmart & MTV where Jeff suggested that it was just a marketing ploy. We don’t know that, we told Jeff. So today we went and had a look at this exhibition. We now regret telling Jeff to remove that statement.
The basics of the exhibition are that the MTV cafe in Times Square has gone green. It’s sponsored by Walmart. If there’s one thing we like about MTV it’s that they have an agenda – but this exhibition isn’t MTV voicing their concerns – it’s a marketing ploy waving a tiny green flag.
