The IHT reports on Italian suit-maker Brioni’s plans to open it’s first Indian store sometime this year. Focussing on attracting rich Asian clients to it’s growing luxury casual-wear collection, the company will be offering items such as $7,800 mink-trimmed cashmere sweaters alongside $6,000 versions of the tuxedo they created for Daniel Craig in the latest Bond film.
As the luxury market booms, Brioni have been reaching a new, younger clientele, and the company are keen to maximise on this by expanding their reach globally, with seven new stores and six franchised outlets due to open this year in a range of cities including St Petersburg and Mumbai. Currently outperforming the rest of the luxury market, Brioni is finding orders growing 10% season on season, and it seems as though the resurgent global trend in conspicuous consumption could lead to big things for this brand. Definitely one to keep an eye on.
