“The Notting Hill Carnival will kick off this weekend with its first official TV channel after signing a deal with ITV Local, the regional web TV service from ITV,” reports Media Guardian.

The carnival which is led by London’s Caribbean population has been running since 1959 and is considered one of the largest street festivals in Europe. Creating its own media channel seems to be a natural extension of the event, if its seeking to expand its appeal to a global audience and foreign visitors.
