The Conscious Goods Alliance stopped in Union Square last Friday, the halfway point for a year-long, nationwide tour. The CGA is an alliance made up of companies that believe in a “triple-bottom-line,” a social-conscious version of the more conventional, financial-only bottom line.

Their mode of transportation is a reconditioned 1984 Van Hool Tour Coach converted to run on recycled vegetable oil. Its redesigned interior includes green and recycled materials such as bamboo siding, palm wood flooring and hemp cushions. A large skylight provides solar energy.
