From October 2nd to November 7th, Starbucks will be handing out 1.5 million free “song of the day” cards each day to kick-off their new partnership with Apple. The 50 million song giveaway is no humble inauguration, but as Engadget points out, most of the coffee spots will not even be offering the free iTunes set up for downloading your song in-shop by the promotion’s end. Except for, naturally, New York and Seattle, where 600-plus stores feature free iTunes downloads via laptop, iPhone or iPod touch on kick-off day, October 2nd.
