We first mentioned the rent-a-couch site back in 2005 but a recent tip off from PSFK contributor Dan Pinch in South Africa lets us know that the site is still thriving and that Cape Town has 70 hosts. Couchsurfing is a network that lets travelers bunk a night on hosts' couches. Groups and applications on booming social network apps like Facebook are fueling the service.
