2,663 plastic shopping bags are used every second in America. That's pretty outrageous. New York based design studio MSLK is creating an art instillation called “Urban Tumbleweeds” that will visualize this rapid fire consumption. The piece will consist of a .5 mile long multicolored chain of bags to represent this brief span of time. MSLK plans on exhibiting the chain at Burning Man 2008 and is still taking donations of clean bags till June 30th.
