New York City's 911 emergency hot line and 311 quality of life complaint line will now directly accept uploads of photos and videos from mobile devices. It was announced today that concerned citizens will be able to tag media along with phone calls reporting crimes or public problems such as noise complaints. The city government hopes this added feature will help to solve crimes and other issues more efficiently. The 911 and 311 systems also accept media uploads via computer and text message.
