London’s annual contemporary design and interiors event 100% design, showcased a variety of innovative products. Two which struck us was Hulger’s fantastic compact fluorescents lights and Michelle Brand’s Plastic Bottle Chandelier.

Hulger’s creation makes use of the typically boring fluorescent light – unwinding the bright rings of glass into beautiful sculptures. The designers bring up a good question: Why exactly do all fluorescents look similar?

Brand’s chandelier is comprised of the flower-petal shaped bases of plastic soda bottles, strung together into transclucent strands. Best part is the seemingly delicate (yet plastic) structure will probably hold up to all sorts of  bumps and entanglements.
