Early testing at PSFK HQ with the Skype iPhone has been positive. We've been able to log-in and make calls to both our Skype contacts and land-line numbers. Quality of the calls has been decent too. We know that we've always been able to make calls to anywhere in the world with our laptops but by linking the service to the device we make our regular calls on Skype has made the iPhone an international calling device.

Of course this all relies on having WiFi – but with a little planning around when you're going to make your calls (e.g. when you're at the airport), this shouldn't be a major problem. The only downside right now is that if the application isn't running then you can't receive Skype calls – there's probably some sort of way to divert your calls to your mobile phone number to overcome this though.
