Renowned for playing host to the some of the world’s largest artists, Wembley stage will soon host it's first mobile phone performer, singer/songwriter Gary Go. Instead of using traditional instruments, Gary Go chooses to play music with his iPhone. Using his phone's virtual recording studio application, Go has already successfully managed to recreate melodies on guitars, drums and the piano for his new album demo and now he’s attempting it live: ‘I think it’s pretty amazing that I’m going to be using a mobile phone on stage at Wembley Stadium in front of so many people’, he said. ‘My biggest worry is that my phone will ring mid-song’. And more artists than Gary Go have decided to get creative with their mobile phones as well. London musician group, The Mentalists recently performed a cover of the MGMT’s Kids on Youtube with their handhelds, which received thousands of hits. The public were provided with a taster of the Gary Go x iPhone collaboration earlier this week, when Go performed a special track called Superfuture at a free gig at Apple’s London Regent Street store. Gary Go will support Take That at Wembley on 1, 4 and 5 July.
