Burberry has created a social networking site that they hope will garner new fans of the brand.

For a brand with a solid, over a century old reputation, Burberry certainly has been making news lately. In addition a recent profiling of it's Creative Director Chistopher Bailey (above) in The New Yorker about their re-branding efforts, they have also launched artofthetrench.com, which will “initially feature users sending in pictures of themselves wearing Burberry trench coats.” So far the site has garnered over 600,000 facebook friends, with Burberry hoping this could transition to a new generation of fans of the trademark British plaids and checks.
