Digital Cloud To Float Above London's Olympic Games
Will the Digital Cloud design fly over London's Olympic Games?
The city of London is seeking an architectural centerpiece for its Olympic Park when it plays host to the worldwide event in 2012. One of the entries short-listed in the competition is a radical design that envisions a “Digital Cloud” floating over the city, bridging the gap between our virtual and physical world. The structure, developed by a team of architects, artists and engineers, proposes a series of interconnected plastic bubbles that takes inspiration from the work of German artist Tomas Saraceno.
