The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is slated to take to the sky for commercial use in Q4 of 2010.  “Dreamliner,” a name chosen via a 500,000 person strong public vote, is an apt title.  Boeing’s engineers and designers have sought to create a soothing experience, perhaps reminiscent of dream, through the use of 3-stage LED lighting in the cabin.   They have also used the largest windows available in any commercial airliner.  Windows, which extend to a higher sight-line, allowing passengers to have a better view of the horizon and that feature “smart glass,” which can be dimmed using a switch.
