Beginning February 26, an art show at Liverpool’s National Conservation Centre will feature photographs from the iconic Lewis’s department store. Neutral Spoon and local photographer Stephen King co-produced a Lewis’s Fifth Floor: A Department Story; the hardcover book documents Lewis’s untouched fifth floor, featuring portraits of current and past employees, light fixtures, a 50s style restaurant, and 70s hair salon. Hidden from the public since the late 80s, a website was launched to capture and crowdsource memories from the interiors, staff, and public.
