A new electric bike from Sanyo will be able to charge up while being ridden on flat ground.

Sanyo's new Eneloop Hybrid Bicycle will be able to charge up while being ridden on flat ground, Crunch Gear reports. Normally, such electric bikes only gather energy when braking while going downhill. The bicycles will be able to travel up to 55km on a full battery, which would take about 280 minutes to charge up.

The Eneloop is scheduled to go on sale in Japan in April.
