Students in Norway have developed a very high resolution display wall that gives the users a unique experience in navigating extremely high-resolution images.

Students at the University of Tromsø, Norway, have created a 22 megapixel display wall constructed from 28 projectors, forming a 7,168 x 3,072 resolution display.

The display responds to a touch-like input, without actually having to touch the wall. The cameras mounted on the floor pick up gestures to enable navigating extremely high resolution images and delivering an amazing amount of visual detail .

The below demo shows this interactive display wall navigating a 13.3 gigapixel image of the Tromsø city.
