We noticed how little banks have changed when we walked past a new HSBC branch in the Flatiron district of New York recently. From the institution that advertises that it’s the world’s “local” bank is only available when their customers aren’t.
One of HSBC’s business principles is to provide “Outstanding customer services” – maybe that’s easier to do when there aren’t any customers to serve.
