Design Aids Journalism Growth In Conflict Areas Of The World
The Institute for War & Peace Reporting turns citizens into local reporters in conflict zones. They now have a new cleanly designed website to aid getting their stories out to the rest of the world.
PSFK recently attended The Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR) launch event for their new website designed by NY-based ESI Design. IWPR works to train local journalists and improve local media in areas around the world where news reporting is difficult. These are places where professional journalists are often not allowed or the work is dangerous due to conflicts. The internet has become an accessible conduit for many local reporters worldwide to get their stories to a broader audience. IWPR’s existing website wasn’t as efficient as it could be in pooling news and delivering it in a clean and professional manner. The institute needed help with updating their communication strategy and online presence and contacted ESI Design.
