Finland’s largest pizza chain, Kotipizza, has plans to push fast food further into the realms of instant gratification, replacing its traditional menus and in-store adverts with digital displays. Once the new technology is in place, the company will be able to update its offerings in real-time, providing special deals or announcing new menu items to individual stores or across its whole network of restaurants that can be changed based on season or time of day. Additionally, this enables Kotipizza to develop a private channel for broadcasting tailored news and entertainment directly to diners. Down the road this may present opportunities for wireless interactions such as ordering and rewards to take place for customers who visit particular locations.
