Unveiling the UK coalition government’s legislative program, the Queen mentioned plans to offer flexible working to all employees. Currently, parents and carers of disabled adults are allowed to ask their employers for flexible hours but with this plan, the government eventually aims to extend this right to all workers, following consultation with business groups. However, the announcement has received a mixed response, with the British Chambers of Commerce showing concern over it while the Trades Union Congress welcomed the move.
