New iPhone app developed in Japan replaces your morning alarm with a video from your friends, your loved ones, or even strangers (chatroulette-style).

Wake Up World is a new kind of social alarm clock. The recently-developed iPhone app, which costs $0.99, supplies you with a username and secret code upon registering. You then share your secret code with other Wake Up World users, who can send you videos which appear at the time you set your alarm to “wake” you.

One of the clever aspects of this app is that it’s inherently social and offers a built-in incentive for people to recommend the app to their loved ones, friends, or even strangers (chatroulette-style) for shared and surprising experiences.
