If you have a few free hours during these long summer days, they're ultimately best spent watching a World Cup match–if you can easily find one.

Despite coverage being televised across the five boroughs of New York City, a consistent, consolidated application for soccer fans had yet to be created to unite them.

The City Of New York recently stepped up, in collaboration with We Are Plus and u2i, to create the NYC Soccer Game Finder for the iPhone, which gives fans throughout the city and Hoboken a tool to find bars, restaurants and other venues that are showing World Cup games. There is also a corresponding website, for those iPhone-less New Yorkers, accessible through any PC or smartphone browser.
