Biodegradable Tent Helps Solve Festival Waste Problem
Eco-friendly temporary shelter eliminates waste and contributes to the environment.
The Green Thing and designer Vanessa Harden have collaborated to develop ‘Future Tents', a first-of-its-kind line of disposable festival shelters that will last for just three days and then begin to biodegrade. The team identified a problem with the common practice of abandoning cheap tents at the end of a festival, which leaves behind a vast amount of waste.
Future Tents are made of biodegradable materials, like waterproofed cardboard, and are embedded with local seeds to help create green spaces as they break down. Currently, Vanessa is living in the tent for 4 days and documenting her experience.
