Just weeks after PSFK published an article on bicycle superhighways of Denmark and the Netherlands comes the news of London’s Cycle Superhighways which were launched this week. The lanes of some of the city’s roads have been painted in bright blue to earmark them as bike lanes, while it can also boast of improved way-finding and ‘trixi’ mirrors at signals. The city’s transport agency, Transport for London is working closely with companies to encourage more office-goers to cycle to work. It has also provided grants to companies to develop additional bike parking areas in their premises and has been funding cycling training for local households near the superhighways.
