Google's App Inventor is a simplified interface that allows users with limited programming skills to create Android apps. Through drag and drop code blocks,  users can learn to create applications in a constrained and visual desktop environment similar to Scratch.

While some critics may dislike the flood of amateur apps in the Android Market, enabling everyone to create their own apps benefits the mobile app environment in the long run. There will be those that are drawn into app development through the simple service and graduate towards more sophisticated results.
