Qantas Airlines is introducing a new Marc Newson designed check-in process that will allow passengers to breeze through airport terminals to their flight. The Next Generation Check-In will offer frequent fliers an RFID-embedded card that stores a permanent tracking number which records information for each trip. Users simply have to hold this smart card under the Next Generation Check-in kiosks, enabling them to skip a few steps through the check-in process and thus reducing boarding queues at the airport and allowing passengers to spend more time as they choose before boarding the flight.
