An increasingly-popular trend in film genres is romantic comedy packed full of action.

An increasingly-popular trend in film genres is romantic comedy packed full of action. This is by no means a new category, seen in a number of films such as Romancing the Stone (1984) and Charade (1963).  However over the last few years the number of films ticking the ‘comedy’, ‘action’ and ‘romance’  boxes is on the up, especially for summer releases. With The Bounty Hunter released earlier in the year, this summer will see Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz blazing through gunfire in Knight and Day, Tina Fey and Steve Carell running from the mob in Date Night and Killer‘s stars Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher looking out for hit-men.
