RFID-Enabled Identity Cards Will Also Verify Users Online

German Citizens will soon get mandatory smart IDs.

Germany will soon begin rolling out RFID-embedded ID cards for its citizens that will store all their personal data. Apart from helping authorities identify people quickly and accurately, the mandatory card will also enable German citizens to verify themselves online. A special reading device will let them securely shop and interact with government authorities on the Internet.
