Ideas to help redefine how the quality of a concept is evaluated and rewarded.

A recent post at The 99% by Behance Founder & CEO Scott Belsky imagines a world where the best ideas have the best chance to succeed – a world ruled by ‘creative meritocracy’. The unfortunate reality encountered by most professionals in the ‘idea business’ is being up against centuries of entrenched practices that disfavor merit-based opportunity; inefficiencies, middlemen, and highly subjective systems for determining quality. More often than not, connections (who you know) and perceived social influence (who represents you) play a larger role in determining what ideas are accepted than your talent and the quality of said ideas.
