The MakerBot Cyclops is a DIY 3D scanner kit that can be used with any VGA video device such as an iPhone to form a low cost, yet effective 3D scanner. Created by Makerbot’s engineer Taylor Goodman, the Cyclops uses Structured Light 3D Scanning technology and comes as a laser cut package. Users only need to assemble the parts and add a video source and projector to complete the device.

This 3D scanner kit is available at an introductory price of $40 at the Makerbot store.
