A School For Digital Kids
A New York school is using a unique learning model to teach its students.
New York Times reports on a school that uses video games as the primary mode to teach children. Quest to Learn was founded by Katie Salen, a design and technology expert, and focuses on teaching game design to encourage students to explore, make strategies, collaborate and learn. What’s impressive is that their students, while perhaps developing an innovative mind and getting better equipped to handle challenging problems later on, still get grades comparative to those of students studying in traditional schools.
