Canon’s 4k Multipurpose: A Benchmark For Future Cameras

At its Expo 2010, Canon allowed a sneak peek into the future of camera resolutions with its new 4k Multipurpose concept camera. Unlike the standard 1080p resolution of today’s cameras, the Multipurpose captures photos and videos at a jaw-dropping 4000p resolution from its 8 megapixel CMOS sensor, with a high-definition LCD viewfinder mounted on it. Company officials at the exhibition said that this high-end SLR is aimed at offering multipurpose image capture and will not be available commercially.
