Future Cars Could Double Up As Road Sensors
A new technology would allow vehicles to relay traffic conditions on road in real time.
MIT researchers are working on a new technology that will enable on-road cars to act as mobile sensors and spread information on road and traffic conditions. The CarTel project has already created an algorithm that would effectively relay real-time road data through a network of cars via wireless connections. The program is currently being tested at Ford.
