Hyperlocal Blog Launches A Weekly Print Edition
A website covering local events is attempting a trend reversal by introducing a physical version.
At a time when many newspapers are contemplating stopping their print editions and focusing on their online presence, a hyperlocal blog called HU17.net, that covers the events happening in the town of Beverley in the UK, has introduced a print edition. The newspaper started as a promotional idea covering only sports in the beginning, but has now evolved into a full-colored, 28 page print edition. HU17 comes out every Tuesday, has a low cost advertising model, charging less than $8 for a weekly ad and is distributed to strategic points in the town such as bars, social clubs and hair salons.
