A global microlending marketplace extends its scope to education.

The online micro-lending platform Kiva, which connects entrepreneurs in developing regions to lenders, has now extended its services by introducing a loan program exclusively for students to help them pay for their education. The student loan program works just like its business loans program and anyone can lend as little as $25 and track their investment till its repayment. The pilot program started with students from Ecuador, Bolivia and Paraguay and may be extended to students in other countries in the future.
