Google and have developed a new application for Google Earth that will allow anyone to view near real-time flight info of any commercial airplane flying through American skies. Google Earth takes data collected by Flightwise from the Federal Aviation Administration and represents air flights as icons on its application, allowing users to get information about an airplane in flight such as its flight number, path, origin and destination with only a 15 to 20 minute  time lag behind its current position in the sky. Users can even download a plane’s flight path and play it back later.
