A municipal county takes measures to reduce its annual budget.

Its not only private companies who are looking to outsource and save costs, but also municipal counties. In a major decision that could become a precedent for other towns, the Suffolk County Council has agreed to outsource almost all of its services and reduce its budget by almost 30 percent. The public services will be outsourced to companies and social enterprises which means the county council will provide no services directly by itself and could result in trimming its workforce drastically. The council says that their future model is in line with UK government’s drive to reduce the financial deficit.
