A creative medical device is built almost entirely from used automobile parts.

An exciting and promising incubator built out of used car parts was on display at the 2010 Why Design Now? Solving Global Challenges Conference. Presented by Timothy Prestero, founder and CEO of Design that Matters, the incubator concept is designed specifically to address the needs of struggling countries who lack the necessary facilities to care for babies born prematurely, while also making use of secondhand car parts like headlamps, electrical harnesses, and fans, which can be easily maintained or replaced whenever necessary.
