A new system can hide individual items from within video recordings.

Researchers from the Technische Universität Ilmenau in Germany have developed a video manipulation system that removes selected objects from video recordings in real time. When using the “Diminished Reality” system, the user needs to specify the object to be eliminated from the video, after which it analyzes the immediate surroundings of the object and fills in the vacant space, all in the blink of an eye.
