Piracy may not be so bad after all, as comic book artist Steve Lieber discovered recently. After Lieber found that his graphic novel Underground was scanned and uploaded on the infamous 4chan message board, he went to the site, joined the discussion about his book, and actually engaged with the users who liked it. Result? Just the day after, the sales of his book sky-rocketed, presumably with 4chan users buying and spreading the word about it.

Although an unusual method of engagement with fans, it show that content producers can work with the peer to peer culture (and sell items) instead of fighting it.
