A global contest aims to find everyday objects that have improved people's lives.

The Search for the Obvious is a global contest that encourages its participants to find everyday objects and services that have changed the world and made life better for people across the world. Contestants have to upload the photo of the object or service and describe why they feel it made a difference to the world. Once the judges choose their favorites each week, the contestants are provided some challenges to think about ways to eradicate poverty.

Some of the entries include: bicycles, the Swiss Army knife, The Internet, Soap and even books. It’s a subtle reminder of the power of even the smallest things, and an inspirational snapshot of the world.
