The hybrid concept car, which made waves at its unveiling last year, will soon hit the road.

BMW's Vision Efficient Dynamics (VED) concept car, which was a showstopper at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show, will soon be on the road. The company has announced that it will indeed begin VED's production and hopefully, make it available for sale within the next few years. PSFK readers will recall us covering this plug-in hybrid sports car with a small and extremely efficient engine.

The car is speculated to be a 2+2 seater and will feature wing doors and a three-cylinder turbo diesel engine that will power it from 0-62 mph in less than 5 seconds, yet deliver an impressive 62.5 miles per gallon. The VED model can be charged thru any power socket and driven for 31 miles with just electrical energy. Lets hope it remains true to its tag of “Less Emissions and More Driving Pleasure”.
