Right now, all over Africa, there are marketing wars raging. In no segment is the fighting fiercer, the investment greater, than in the ICT sector. Telcos and ISP’s, and as many half-blood variants as you can imagine – are locked in a death struggle. Market forces are scything into the profits of the last decade. Infrastructure investment should have been amortised, and the ever more aware consuming public are demanding more for less.

But there is a dark irony about the way these wars are being fought. For the masters of our communications future are battling in analogue media.
