Another piece of urban spam or a monument to one of Brooklyn's heroes.

When the team was in Brooklyn's Red Hook neighborhood the other day we came across this large plastic plaque juxtaposed beside the decayed docklands. On the sheet is an etched spread of Jay-Z's new book Decoded.

A little research back home it turns out that the monument is part of a Bing campaign from Microsoft. A recent article in the New York Times reported:

A new campaign for “Decoded ,” the memoir by the hip-hop performer Jay-Z, promises to be a real head-turner. Beginning Monday, reproductions of entire pages of the book will appear unannounced in locales referred to in those pages.
