Designer Arik Levy takes inspiration from the classic Charles and Ray Eames film 'Powers of Ten' to creatively transform ten tables.

To celebrate the opening of their new showroom in the Miami Design District, Molteni&C hosted a special event for the US debut of new work from designer Arik Levy. The project called, ‘in power 10’ was requested by Molteni&C for Levy to take 10 of his Quake tables and transform them in the spirit of the classic Charles and Ray Eames film, Powers of Ten.

Levy’s creations span between functional interpretations and nonfunctional sculpture. His idea was to use the table as the base element and think about was of introducing the quantity of 10. Some literally contain ten of something like colors or sticks. Others are covered with 100 arrows and 100,000 staples. Levy also considered the mass of the table for one version which sits on a concrete block that weighs 10 times the table.
